Traveling to Maui County – State of Hawaii Safe Travels

If you need to self-quarantine upon arrival (because you did not take a pre-travel COVID-19 test OR your test results are still pending), you need to abide by following self-quarantine rules as set by Governor Ige.

Travelers will now receive a rapid COVID-19 test upon disembarking at the airport in Maui. A vaccine pasport program is in the works but the details have not been released as of 5/4/21.

All travelers arriving into Maui County must complete the State of Hawaii Safe Travels online application. All travelers must complete the application at least 24 hours prior to departure.

Maui County Travel Testing Program

All travelers coming in from outside of Maui County must provide a pre-departure test 72 hours prior to departing for Maui County to be exempt from quarantine. All travelers are strongly encouraged to take a voluntary post-arrival test 72 hours after arriving in Maui County.

Request for Limited Quarantine Form

All interisland travelers seeking a modified travel quarantine due to essential work or medical reasons must complete the Request for Limited Quarantine Form at least five (5) days prior to departure. Travelers also must complete the State of Hawaii Safe Travels online application.
